Siren season 2 spoilers: Check out details from first two episodes!

Siren - Freeform

Coming up on January 24, the premiere of Siren is officially going to be coming on Freeform. So how is the series going to be kicking things off? Luckily, we’ve got a little more information courtesy of the network today! This is going to be an intense collection of stories ahead as you basically see the stakes being raised to new levels.

Below, you can view the first two synopses for season 2– consider this a great way to prepare for what’s ahead for many different characters.

Season 2 episode 1, “The Arrival” – “With more mermaids landing at Bristol Cove’s shores, the threat of discovery increases. After his encounter with the siren song, Ben tries to cope with the after effects. Maddie’s mom (Garcelle Beauvais) returns to town and tries to connect with her daughter. Meanwhile, Ryn attempts to adapt to life on land.”

The story for Ryn is the one that is probably going to be the most continuous throughout the entire season, mostly because she’s literally a mermaid out of water. She doesn’t know or understand many of the proper customs and because of that, the adjustment will take time. Of course, in addition to trying to handle being on land, she does also need to protect some of the other mermaids who arrive. She’s one of the few people who can really be a guide to them as they try to adapt and make sense of the new world that they find themselves a part of.

Season 2 episode 2, “The Wolf at the Door” (airing January 31) – “Ben, Maddie and Ryn desperately try and keep the newly arrived mermaid pack hidden from the rest of the town, but the new mermaids’ quick degradation on land forces them to get them back to the sea unnoticed during the town’s Mermaid Beauty Contest. Elaine grows more suspicious of Helen and her connections to their family.”

This episode is probably going to pick up in some ways where the premiere left off — but hopefully at the same time introduce a few new wrinkles to the story and add a little more depth to our new arrivals. Also, it could take a little bit of creativity in order to get them back into the water.

Overall, it does appear as though we’re going to get a lot of great stories from almost every single one of these characters — in a wide array of different ways. For some of the people in Bristol Cove, they’re just trying to discover their inner humanity. With that in mind, there’s something so interesting about them also learning to coexist with these new arrivals who still have so much to learn about themselves.
