MacGyver season 3 episode 12 preview: Meet Charlotte Cole

Want to know what’s coming up on MacGyver season 3 episode 12? This one could be fun, largely because of a new character in Charlotte Cole. The Last Ship alum Bridget Regan is going to be coming on board in a particular-important role as this character — for now, it just seems like she’s turning up in this one episode. Yet, it also does feel like she could be one of those people who shows back up down the road if the situation calls for it. With MacGyver characters, you want people who are dynamic and can bring a lot of notes to someone; Regan’s capable of that, and we like the idea of her character being this woman who can easily have a double life without anyone realizing it.

Below, CarterMatt offered up the official MacGyver season 3 episode 12 synopsis for some other information on what’s ahead:

“Fence + Suitcase + Americium-241” – The Phoenix teams up with a woman who’s a soccer mom by day but a master thief by night to catch one of her contacts, an underworld criminal, who has hired her to steal a dirty bomb, on MACGYVER, Friday, Jan. 11 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

This episode seems to be mostly about this solitary mission, but that’s fine with us if we have a really good opportunity to get to know Cole as a character — and that we’ve got a great villain on the other side of it. Given that we’re at the halfway point of the season, now seems like the perfect time to bring in more characters, good or bad, who could be valuable down the line. That is probably all the more essential when you remember that George Eads is set to leave the show this season. You want to be able to create a nice roster of other people to fill out the show down the road. (There’s still a lot of mystery out there about what MacGyver looks like minus Eads, including if there will be a new series regular brought in down the line.)

This episode is continuing a great run of MacGyver episodes in the month of January — it’s a good time for networks to post great ratings while viewers stay home for the winter. Here’s to hoping for some great things! We want to see MacGyver well on its way to a season 4.
