MacGyver season 3 episode 13 spoilers: Survival training; Ethan returns

When MacGyver season 3 episode 13 airs on CBS come January 18, there’s a fairly-wise range of content you can expect. For starters, you’re going to see Mac head out into the wilderness for a story with Bozer and Riley that goes terribly awry. That’s bad news for these characters, but probably good news for us since it’s bound to be reasonably entertaining. Meanwhile, to go along with this we’re also going to have a chance to see the return of Matty’s ex Ethan as she and Jack work together in order to ensure that he is properly placed into witness protection. After everything that he went through with S-Company, it’s not a shocker that there are some people out there still wanting him dead.

“Wilderness + Training + Survival” – When MacGyver takes Riley and Bozer into the wilderness for a weekend of survival training, things take a turn when they run into a violent group of criminals who are searching the rugged backcountry for a lost crate of money. Also, Jack and Matty go on a road trip to place Matty’s ex-husband and his family in witness protection, on MACGYVER, Friday, Jan. 18 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

We imagine that for Matty, this story may be hard; she’ll likely treat it as yet another mission, but is still sending off someone she loved and someone who, on some level, she had to be pining for during the time that he was away. Now, it’s effectively saying goodbye to him since after this, there is no guarantee that she will be seeing him again.

All in all, our early estimation on this episode is that there’s going to be a little bit of comedy — how could there not be when you think about MacGyver taking Bozer and Riley into a situation where they are absolutely fish out of water? Beyond that, though, there will likely be an undercurrent of darkness in here, mostly because it’s impossible for there not to be when you consider where we are in the story right now and what we’ve seen with one Matty Webber already. The hard part will be waiting until January 18 in order to see all of this play out.
