Fox’s New Year’s Eve start time, details for Steve Harvey show
Before we do too much else, though, let’s start things off here by giving you some of the details that you really need to know. The show tonight starts at 8:00 p.m. Eastern time, and the first part of it will run until 10:00. At that point, the special will go off the air, but then return in an hour to wrap things up for the remaining hour plus change in order to wrap things up.
Want to learn about who is going be joining Harvey and his co-host Maria Menounos for the broadcast? That’s something that we’ve got lined up for you in the attached comments:
Harvey will count down to 2019 with an unmatched, star-studded three-and-a-half-hour primetime celebration, featuring an electrifying musical performance by 16-time Grammy Award-winning singer and songwriter Sting. The live event also will feature performances by hit artists Robin Thicke, Florence + the Machine, Jason Aldean, Juanes and Why Don’t We. Additionally, the special will include celebrity cameo appearances by THE MASKED SINGER’s Ken Jeong, comedian Kenan Thompson and FOX NFL SUNDAY commentators Curt Menefee, Terry Bradshaw, Howie Long, Michael Strahan and Jimmy Johnson. Additional performers and celebrity guests to be announced.
Obviously, there is a lot of network synergy wedged in here, but can you really blame Fox for that? It’d be almost strange in the event that they didn’t want to promote some of their own talent on this show given the fact that this is the perfect platform in order to do just that. It is also one of the most diverse lineups out there, and clearly the idea there is to appeal to a wide cross-section of viewers who want everything from pop to country to Latin music to rock. It should be an interesting show, though we’re not sure much is going to top the live wedding that we got during last year’s event.
Of course, stay tuned — we’re going to have some more coverage of the special throughout the night! Be sure to check out the link here to get more scoop on anything and everything throughout the night.
