The Voice season 15 finale: Did Kirk Jay, Chevel Shepherd, Kennedy Holmes win?

Tonight, America’s decision on The Voice season 15 was revealed between Chevel Shepherd, Kirk Jay, Kennedy Holmes, and Chris Kroeze. One of them would win, and with that have a chance at the title and a big career. (Technically, any of them still could — the ball is really going to be in their court after this.)

So, who actually was going to be the winner at the end of all of this? Going into the finale, iTunes results signaled that Kennedy was likely not going to be it. We know that these don’t directly correlate with voting at all anymore, but they have been fairly accurate at predicting results all season. Otherwise, it was too close to call. Kirk has been the favorite for most of the season, and that’s why it was the easiest to side with him amidst the remaining three. He’s sold rather well, gets a ton of streams, and The Voice fans love their country music.

In the end, the winner was … Chevel Shepherd! We did not see this coming and honesty, we’re shocked by some of the results here. Chris finished in second, far higher than we thought that he would be going into tonight.

What do we think about these results? Honestly, we’re torn. We do think that Chevel is immensely talented and easily could be a star after the fact, but this is not the way we saw the night going. We don’t really know how Kirk could’ve done anything different, and we certainly do wonder if Team Blake’s two artists did split the vote here to a certain extent. Also, maybe we all underestimated the Kelly Clarkson fanbase to a certain extent given that this is the second straight season in which her artist has won.

Chevel does have star quality and an ability to be successful on the series after the fact. After all, we’ve seen this on two separate occasions with this show already with female country singers! It’s all going to depend on what she puts in and, ultimately, who she works with.
