The Timeless movie will explain future Lucy, Wyatt in early going
The Timeless movie is going to be coming to NBC in just under two weeks — December 20 isn’t far away anymore! This episode should prove to be a rather-nice culmination of almost everything that we’ve had a chance to see to date, whether you are talking about the quest to save Rufus or also uncovering how Lucy and Wyatt come back from the future in order to change the way of things in the present. This is super-important for many different reasons, especially since following around with the timeline in this way was supposedly one of the series’ primary rules.

Luckily, it does feel like the producers are not going to make you wait all that long in order to learn how Abigail Spencer and Matt Lanter’s characters are going to be able to jump back from another timeline. Speaking via TVLine, here is some of what executive producer Arika Lisanne Mittman had to say on the subject:
“We certainly needed to answer the question of, ‘How are future Wyatt and future Lucy here?’ … And so that question will be answered within the first five minutes.”
When it comes to how Lucy and Wyatt are like in the present, the one thing that we would say is that it’s probably long to make any sort of huge assumptions about them one way or another. While it would be lovely to paint this picture in which these two characters are together and happy, at the same time there is no 100% guarantee of this. There’s so much time between where these characters have come from and where they are and because of that, there’s a good chance for a few different surprises.
We’re not sure that there will be too much time to really analyze future Lucy and Wyatt’s relationship, largely due to the fact that these characters are mostly there in order to help Rufus. There are also some other priorities, including establishing the relationship between characters in the present and also giving us a chance to see some sort of holiday celebration. There’s a reason why this episode is set at Christmas, after all — this is a way to capitalize on viewers interested in seeing some fun related to the holiday.
