Ray Donovan season 6 episode 7 preview: Ray’s loyalty tested

Do you want to know what’s coming on Ray Donovan season 6 episode 7? At the forefront of this story is one of loyalty. This has been an issue for Ray ever since he got to New York, and the bad news for him is that it’s probably going to continue to be a big issue for him in the months and years to come.

The problem for Ray is rather simple: When you’re in the sort of business that he’s in, you really do have to be prepared for a lot of isolation and loneliness. Everyone around you has an agenda and they all want various things out of you — with some of them not of the friendliest variety. It’s hard to know whether or not your friends really got your back, and that’s the situation Ray is in now moving into this episode. He’s already been battered up, and now he could potentially get further bruised depending on what happens next and the decisions that he makes.

With Ray’s work on Anita’s campaign getting in his way, Mac lays all of his cards on the table. Knowing what his friend is facing, Ray must choose where his loyalty lies. Terry and Darryl bring Bunchy home to Boston to get in touch with their roots. Mickey considers the great white north.

As we start to move forward now with this season, we’re going to continue to pose some of the same questions that we have for weeks … including whether or not it’s going to be possible for Mickey to ever get out of the bind that he’s put himself in. We’ve constantly found ourselves in a tough spot when it comes to Jon Voight’s character and this show, mostly because we’ve had a hard time trying to figure out how much to buy into his present predicament. On paper, it doesn’t feel like he should be able to either survive what he’s going through or end up being free on the other side of it. He’s made enough enemies that he could easily be killed off, and he’s also committed enough crime that there will be plenty of people searching for him.

Also, is seeing Mickey moving to Canada really the right way to end this guy’s story? We do think that there is a craving of justice out there for this character, one that many longtime fans are going to want to see met.
