Like with the other two finalists tonight in Dalton Harris and Anthony Russell, we’re seeing Scarlett tonight performing the song as a duet. So, who is her partner? Think in terms of Leona Lewis. These are two powerhouse singers pairing up for what may be a super-powerful, super-memorable performance.
What is interesting here is the choice of “One More Sleep,” a song certainly familiar to Leona already. This is a proper Christmas song, something that is really only going to sleep at a particular time of the year. With that being said, though, there is SO much money to be made at this time of the year. Mariah Carey could live off of the success of “All I Want for Christmas is You” alone. Sometimes, Christmas music gets a bad rep for this very reason alone.
We will say this — Leona and Scarlett did sound really great together! This was a pleasant performance with some great vocals, even if there were some times in which the backing track was so loud we couldn’t hear either one of them as well as we wanted to. This is the perfect sort of song to get you into the holiday season … provided that you weren’t there already.
If you are purchasing the single, one thing to absolutely remember here is that the proceeds are going to charity. This is a way to help give back to a really important cause, while at the same time supporting one of your favorite artists. We do like to consider this by and large the best of both worlds, and there is absolutely a great deal to like about what we’ve got here from start to finish as a single.
