MacGyver season 3 spoilers: The Last Ship alum Bridget Regan to appear

Responding to a fan on Twitter, Regan confirmed that she is appearing in an upcoming episode of the CBS show, though did not reveal any information about her role. We do think that it’d be fun to see her take on a part here that is a little bit more villainous, especially after being a character like Sasha on The Last Ship who fought so continuously for good throughout that series’ run.
Even with the TNT show wrapping up, Regan has certainly remained quite busy. She may still have some appearances to come on Jane the Virgin, and many of her other credits include White Collar (where she did play an adversarial role to Matt Bomer’s Neal Caffrey) to go along with Agent Carter and a brief appearance on Grey’s Anatomy as Owen’s sister Megan. (Due to scheduling issues, the role was later recast with Abigail Spencer taking it over.)
MacGyver is currently closing in on the halfway point of season 3, and the mission remains very much the same as it’s been — tell some great stories featuring these characters, who possess the rather-unique ability to find and secure safety no matter the circumstances that are all around them. There will eventually be some sort of major change later on this season with the apparent departure of George Eads’ Jack Dalton, but that is something that we’ll get around to more when we are actually nearing his exit. There may not be too much more that needs to be said at present.
In getting back more to some of the other great guest stars who have appeared on MacGyver as of late, just think along the lines of David Dastmalchian, Holland Roden, Lance Gross, Tate Donovan, or Reign Edwards. This is a series that has done a rather-great job over time of building out and expanding its universe, mostly so that there are some interesting people surrounding the core cast members. It’s with this in mind that we hope that there are ways in which Regan can return down the line for more episodes … though much of this will depend on whatever role she is taking on.
