Gotham season 5 episode 12: Erin Richards directing 100th episode
There is quite a bit of important stuff to talk about in relation to Gotham season 5 episode 12, and it starts with this: It’s the 100th episode. Now, the cast gets a chance to take their final bow with a milestone episode. Season 5 episode 12 is the final episode of the show to film. It’s not going to be the final one to air (the series finale has already been filmed, and some episodes were shot out of order, but we’ve got a good feeling that this is going to be a monumental story nonetheless.
For starters, this episode is going to be directed by none other than cast member Erin Richards! This marks her TV directorial debut, and it is an opportunity to be able to see her in a different role helping her fellow cast members succeed. There is likely something rich and fulfilling that comes along with that after working with them for so long.
Beyond just this, we’ve also had a chance to learn already that this episode is being written by none other than Ben McKenzie, an actor who really has had an opportunity to do almost everything on this series. We’ve seen him be a director on this show already and this is a chance for him to scratch yet another creative itch — beyond just that, this is a chance for him to do a little bit of wish fulfillment. In all honesty, who doesn’t want to write a story that is set within the Batman universe? Given that this episode is entitled “The Trial of Jim Gordon,” we have a feeling that it will be giving you some rather-fantastic material when it comes to McKenzie’s character. For any big-time fan of Jim Gordon, what’s not to like?
This episode, more than likely, will air close to the end of season 5, even if it is not the series finale proper.
