Earlier this fall, the news came out that The Big Bang Theory would be doing an episode with a Young Sheldon crossover component, one that would be featuring Iain Armitage and others in interesting roles. We’ve wondered for a while now as to how this story could work; now, we’re starting to figure some of that information out, and it seems (at least on the surface) like some sort of VHS tape from the past could be key in just about everything.
Below, CarterMatt offers up the full Big Bang Theory season 12 episode 10 synopsis with some more news regarding what lies ahead:
“The VCR Illumination” – Sheldon and Amy are still down about their theory being disproven, but a VHS tape from Sheldon’s past inspires him not to give up. Also, Bernadette turns into a pageant mom when she tries to help Wolowitz ace his Magic Castle audition, on THE BIG BANG THEORY, Thursday, Dec. 6 (8:00-8:31 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.
Before the end of this episode, we’re hoping, as bizarre as it is, that there is some sort of strange way in which Sheldon can actually appear in the same scene with his younger self. After all, if you are going to bring Armitage over to this show, isn’t it necessary to get him into the same scene as Jim Parsons? Isn’t that, in part, what makes this idea so interesting/
As for what else we are expecting to see coming up on the series, Wolowitz auditioning for the Magic Castle could be all sorts of fun. This is a legendary place in Los Angeles and it certainly makes some sense that he would want to be a part of it. We have a rather hard time imagining Howard managing to balance out being a magician to everything else that he has going on, but it could still be. We’re just glad that the writers are finding some new aspirations and goals for some of these characters, especially now that we are in the twelfth season and there are so many different things that have already transpired. Heck, Howard’s been to space! He has already found a way to make one of his biggest dreams come true.
