The Resident season 2 episode 9 video: What’s wrong with Conrad’s dad?

Not only that, but it feels as though Conrad’s going to realize that he and his father are even more alike than he would care to ever admit. In the sneak peek below for this episode (via TVLine), you can see Conrad’s father Marshall being rushed in to Chastain. At first, he insists that he doesn’t want to be there, saying that he has a regular medical team over at Atlanta General. If you ever needed a good example as to why Marshall doesn’t really think things through, this is it — not wanting to be at his own hospital, which wouldn’t exactly look good if the public knew about it.
Once it’s established that Marshall isn’t going to be able to just take off and go to the hospital of his choosing, we start to get a better actual sense as to why he is there — Crohn’s Disease, which he claims that he’s had for twenty years but has perfectly under control. Two things about this.
1. Obviously, he does not have it under control, not even a little bit. Or, at least this is how it is on this particular day.
2. Apparently, Conrad had no idea about this particular diagnosis. We don’t know how in the world you don’t clue in your own son to what’s going on with you medically, but this is how these two men operate. Conrad doesn’t tell him what’s going on with him medically, and the same apparently goes the other way around. Granted, it’s a little bit different with Marshall because his son is a doctor.
Is there a reason for Conrad to worry? Maybe, and if nothing else, we really do think that he and his father really do need to start to work on their relationship. While neither man is going to suddenly become best friend with the other, it definitely does feel like there is a little bit of room here for improvement. They could learn how to be there for each other a little bit better, or at the very least work to get on the same page when there are important times like this.

As you can see in the fall finale promo over here, there is going to be a pivotal moment for Devon as he and Priya are set to be married. Yet, is that really going to happen after everything that transpired with him and Julian? Also, Julian’s professional career with Quovadis could also be on thin ice after she discovers a troubling secret related to the company.
