The Big Bang Theory season 12 episode 10 return date hopes on CBS
We should, however, kick things off with this: There is return date confirmed at the network at the moment. Yet, one thing is certain in that there are no more episodes planned for the month of November. Next week, the series is predictably going off the air so that everyone can celebrate Thanksgiving. That’s a day spent more on football, parades, and stuffing your face.
Meanwhile, we also should note that the series is seemingly not going to be airing on November 29, either. CBS currently has a repeat scheduled for that date, which means that it could be December 6 until you see Sheldon and company back on the air.
As for what’s coming up next month, the biggest news is that a most-unexpected crossover with Young Sheldon is going to occur! Many characters from the prequel series, including Iain Armitage’s title character, will be making an appearance on the main show. As for how that’s going to happen, the only way that makes sense is some sort of dream sequences. It’s going to be really hard otherwise to justify this, though it feels at least fairly clear from this vantage point that this entire idea is mostly a construct of promotion. It’s a way to get some ratings to the flagship show with something that’s a little weird put potentially also interesting. Also, there’s no other time in which to do it with this being the final season of the show.
There’s one other thing that we of course want, and that is one final Christmas episode before the series comes to a close. This is a franchise that has delivered a great deal of holiday cheer over the years, whether it be the It’s a Wonderful Life inspired episode or the one in which Sheldon received Leonard Nimoy’s DNA (on a napkin) as a gift from Penny. That scene remains, at least for us, the funniest thing that this show has ever done. This is a way to tell one more great holiday-related stories, and it is one of the latest first to check off a lengthy list here for the final season. The series finale more than likely is coming in May, and we have to hope that is going to be a really great culmination / celebration of everything that we know this series to be. It needs to be funny, lighthearted, but also true to these characters and their journey.
