This upcoming episode, entitled “The Patton Project,” could be fairly different from others. By and large, we have a situation with this show where the boss (whoever it is — we know that there are a lot of them at the moment) asks them to jump and they respond with “how high?”. These are people who want to get justice and do their jobs the best that they can. However, it’s not all that often that their job asks them to do some of the things that this episode could. Maybe “The Patton Project” is a case for a greater good, but getting to that endgame may not be altogether easy.
For some more thoughts on this, check out the NCIS: Los Angeles season 10 episode 8 synopsis that CarterMatt has for you below:
“The Patton Project” – Deputy Director Ochoa (Esai Morales) volunteers the NCIS team to assist with a covert operation tied to a terrorist group advocating for extreme military force. Also, Callen has concerns as to what an assignment of this nature could mean for the future of the team, on NCIS: LOS ANGELES, Sunday, Nov. 18 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.
While this case may be concerning for some of these characters, don’t you think at this point that they are used to constantly questioning their future with the team? This just seems to be something that is in limbo at just about every turn, so why wouldn’t it be here? Remember some of the other threats to their careers: The Mexico mission, every single time someone breaks the rules, and the LAPD constantly breathing down Deeks’ neck for a lot of different things. There are a ton of reasons for instability and this case doesn’t feel remotely like the biggest one.
Outside of what we know here…
Where’s the talk of the Densi wedding, and what’s going to happen next with Hetty or Mosley? There are still so many things brimming underneath the surface with this show and we definitely do wish that the writers would start to get to some more of those. It feels like we’re constantly in the lurch here for one reason or another.
