SEAL Team season 2 episode 7 preview: The Mexico mission continues

Want to know what lies ahead when it comes to SEAL Team season 2 episode 7? This episode seems to be, on the surface, picking up where tonight wrapped up. The mission in Mexico, much like many other missions that you have a tendency to behold with Jason Hayes, is one told in parts. These are often elaborate operations with many stages, twists, and turns. It is foolish to anticipate that once boots get on the ground — even in collaboration with the Mexican Marines, as we saw tonight, there’s going to be an easy resolution to everything.

As we start to see David Boreanaz’s character and some others move forward in Mexico, they will be doing so by isolating one of their targets: Andres Doza. (Yes, it is 100% true that there are around a billion different cartel-related storylines on television at the moment. That’s a lot to digest, but most of them seem to be effective on their given shows. There’s even one later tonight in Criminal Minds.) Anyhow, Doza within the SEAL Team world is one of the most-powerful cartel members out there and taking out him, or at least bringing him to justice, will be taking the head off the snake. Everyone will scatter like mice and leave them vulnerable. Cartels, at least on the surface, seem like the sort of thing you have to take down all at once. If you let them start to fester and regroup, that means that they can find a way to appoint a new leader and act as though nothing is all that different.

Is Jason going to start to find more peace amidst his demons in this episode? Yes and no. We think that he is committed to his job. However, that commitment may be tested with a number of reminders as to what’s at home. It’s different from when Alana was alive and it always will be. We just hope that he can focus when it matters; that is, after all, when things are life-and-death for both him and those close to him.
