The reality for Maggie entering this weekend’s show is that she was coming on as one of the biggest under-the-radar performers this season, but she made the most of her time up on stage with “Light On.” This was a charming folk-rock number accented by Rogers’ dancing. There was an earthiness to this performance — you can argue that this was one of the biggest performances of her entire career but Rogers didn’t let that show. From start to finish she delivered the entertainment, though her intonation also did have a few issues (hey, it’s live TV). It wasn’t the splashiest performance that we have see in the world, but we like how she seemed to be in her own world.
Second Song – Maggie performed here “Fallingwater,” a song that overall may have been even more successful than the first. Some of the sound issues from earlier were sorted out and this performance just had a great groove about it. Even though it was softer and slower than the opening number, it was pretty successful in bringing you into Rogers’ world.
