The Little Drummer Girl episode 2 preview: What’s ahead for Charlie?
This episode is really going to be the one that changes Charlie’s life forever, as she is going to find herself undercover, with a very important mission at hand. Let’s start by sharing the attached synopsis below:
Charlie is recruited with the promise of the role of a lifetime to infiltrate a dangerous revolutionary cell. As a cover story, she and Becker must pose as lovers.
We don’t want to give too much away at the moment, but let’s just start by saying that Joseph is not exactly who he claims himself at first to be — beyond just that, he is one of the people who is going to test her in order to ensure that she is right for the field. That goes along with Michael Shannon’s character of Kurtz, who will be involved in just about every part of this process.
As for posing with Becker as lovers, that’s something that Charlie has to get used to — it’s part of the job. What may be a little more surprising, however, is realizing that the mission she is assigned here will turn out to be significantly different from what she first envisioned it to be.
It’s fair to say already that this is a story that is going to have many twists and turns over the next five or so episodes; many characters will not be who they claim to be, and that’s just a part of the fabric of this sort of espionage thriller. With a cast of this much acclaim, you have to hope that The Little Drummer Girl does find a way to live up to most of the expectations that we’ve got for it at present.
