Is STAR new tonight on Fox? Navigating the future for Queen Latifah series

Is STAR new tonight on Fox? We’re pretty darn positive that many people out there want for it to be! Yet, there’s a difference between wanting the series to come back tonight and it actually happening.

There is no new episode tonight, and if you’re looking at a reason why, you don’t have to look any further than the World Series. Regular Fox viewers know that there is at least one week in which programming gets impacted by baseball, and we’re at that point in the season now. Game 2 is happening between the Boston Red Sox and Los Angeles Dodgers tonight, and following that, we’ll have to wait and see what happens when it comes to determining the future of the Queen Latifah series.

Let’s go ahead and present now two different scenarios when it comes to the future of the show.

In the event the World Series is over before Game 7 – There will be a new episode of STAR next week. Sure, Halloween is not necessarily the ideal night to have a television show on the air, but maybe there’s a feeling most families will be done collecting candy at 9:00 p.m. Eastern time anyway.

In the event the World Series isn’t over – If Game 7 happens, that means that STAR is likely going to be off until November 7 — meaning that there’s a two-week break. Ratings-wise it may be better for the show to not air on Halloween, but we’re not sure getting a two-week hiatus so early in the season is all that good for the show, either. You almost have to get viewers to recommit to you time and time again throughout the first few weeks of a season to ensure you don’t suffer too many losses.

We’ll likely know come Tuesday what the plans for October 31 are going to be — alas, it doesn’t seem like we’ll find anything out before then.
