Mr. Mercedes season 3 renewal: Will it happen over at Audience Network?
At the moment, there is no official word on this question one way or another, but it definitely does feel like there is a definite interest there among many fans. Mr. Mercedes has one of the most supportive followings in all of TV — while its ratings may not be massive compared to some other shows (only so many viewers have access to the Audience Network), we do think those who have discovered it have loved it — also, Audience does still need to have a solid stable of original programming to keep people coming back for more. This series provides them with that.
As for what a potential season 3 story would look like, a lot of that depends on what happens during the finale tonight — we have a hard time thinking that every single loose end would be tied up, though, since it is rare for TV series to intentionally wrap themselves up after just two seasons on the air.
Like many other networks, we feel like Audience will likely spend the next few weeks determining what they want the future for this series to be before rendering a final verdict — ratings is a big part of it, but so is buzz and this being a program that gets people talking on social media. We do think that it has done that a little bit more effectively than some of the network’s other series, and we like to think, with this in mind, that the series has something going for it.
