Empire season 5 episode 5 return date hopes: ‘The Death of Grief’

Want to get the Empire season 5 episode 5 return date over at Fox? Well, things are still (at least somewhat) up in the air.

At the moment, the planned return date for the Fox series is Halloween night, which makes some sense given that there is World Series baseball the week before. It’s a lock that there will be no new episode of the show on October 24, so you can go ahead and mark that down in your calendars now.

With all of this said, there is also a possibility that the series could end up being on hold until Wednesday, November 7. If the World Series goes all the way to game 7, there’s a chance the October 31 episode will be pushed back. With that in mind, if you hate baseball and love Empire, our suggestion is that you just root for a shorter series. We know that this is something that has long frustrated many a fan of Fox, who routinely shove off most of their new programming for a week so that they can emphasize some non-sports programming for a certain stretch of time.

Lucious and Cookie prep their new artist Devon (guest star Mario) for a premiere listening party, but worry he may not be ready for that kind of pressure. Hakeem is determined to convince Tiana that he’s matured, but she has a hard time letting go of everything they’ve struggled through the past couple years. Meanwhile, Cookie becomes concerned about Jamal in the all-new “The Depth of Grief” episode of EMPIRE airing Wednesday, Oct. 31 (8:00-9:00PM ET/PT) on FOX. (EMP-505) (TV-14 D, L, V).

Will this be worth the wait? It’s at least possible. we are especially interested in the potential maturation of Hakeem, a guy who claims he has gotten better over time … not that we’re altogether sure that he has. It’s going to take actions for him more so than words to turn his fate around in the eyes of others.
