Station 19 season 2 promotes Code Black alum to series regular
Station 19 season 2 is officially making a commitment to Boris Kodjoe as a part of their show in the long-term.
Following the Code Black actor’s appearance in the premiere as Captain Sullivan, sources confirm that the actor will be a series regular moving forward. This is a clear sign that some folks behind the scenes are very happy with what they are seeing from this character. What we know about Sullivan at the moment is that he is a strict disciplinarian and he likes to run a tight ship — he doesn’t seem to think of Station 19 as a family. Instead, he thinks of it almost as a military based. We don’t think that he is the sort of character who we are meant to like following his initial arrival, but we do think that over time, that could change a little bit. This feels like one of those characters who we could come to appreciate so much more once we get to know better and start to understand a little bit more in terms of his point of view.
As for what this means for the future of Code Black, it’s really just another sign that the CBS series is not coming back. Earlier this summer, the network vowed to reexamine the canceled medical drama starring Rob Lowe and Marcia Gay Harden; however, since that point there has not been all that much in the way of actual news suggested that it could be coming back. For now, we just have to assume that the time for Code Black is at an end and we’re glad to see some of the actors get some other great work. This should be an especially good part for Kodjoe, one that is different than anything that he has done to date.
Now, we just have to see what the trajectory for the Sullivan character is going to be.
