‘Shiptober 2018: Hawaii Five-0 (Steve & Danny) vs. NCIS (Bishop & Torres)

Shiptober

Mrs. Carter: We’re now in the thick of October, and that means that another year of ‘Shiptober is upon us!

It’s a chance to celebrate some of the greatest ‘ships that the TV has to offer, and we’ve got a fun tournament this year to go along with it. Over the course of this month, we’ll be running some ‘Shiptober polls while also discussing what makes some of these couples so great and also sharing some teases / expectations for upcoming episodes! This is a chance to celebrate and discuss great ‘ships while gauging their popularity among readers at the same time. Only one ‘ship will be crowned the victor at the very end!

Voting Rules – Vote however often you like! Only one ‘ship will move on to the next round, and we are keeping these polls open until Friday, October 12 at 1:00 p.m. Pacific time. The following day, the second round will officially begin. (All of the information needed can be found in the bracket image above.)

In this ‘Shiptober battle, we’re sticking to the world of CBS and giving you a showdown between Hawaii Five-0 and NCIS. As for the characters, think in terms of Steve & Danny and then also Bishop & Torres.

Steve & Danny, Hawaii Five-0 (#3 seed) – Remember when the word “McDanno” was used explicitly on the show as a possible name for the restaurant? Well, that wouldn’t have ever happened without the McDanno ‘ship. They’ve been one of the most-noteworthy fan groups out there for this show for quite some time, and we certainly get it given that Steve and Danny have jokingly been referred to as an “old married couple” by many a fan over the course of the series. While we don’t actually see their relationship becoming canon, it does feel pretty clear that there are going to be many more McDanno moments coming throughout season 9. We’ve already had a chance to see a number of great ones so far!

Bishop & Torres, NCIS (#6 seed) – Here, you have a relationship that, at least so far, has been entrenched firmly as a will-they-or-won’t-they romance. They’ve built a good friendship over time and we’ve seen them learn how to work together and communicate in the field. As for whether or not it becomes something more, we’ve certainly seen with NCIS over the years that they are more than fine with playing the long game. With that, we do anticipate some big Bishop / Torres moments coming in the near future … but we also do not necessarily think that there are going to be any firm answers on a relationship anytime soon.

Now, it’s your turn

Vote for your favorite ‘ship now in the poll below!

I can’t see the poll; what do I do? – If you are on mobile, scroll to the bottom of the page and click to view the non-AMP version. If that does not work, give the poll a moment to load! On some mobile browsers, it may take a moment.

How can I vote more than once? – If you are having trouble casting multiple votes, try switching your browser, your device, or visiting the page under private browsing or incognito mode. There should be many handy guides online explaining how to do so if interested.
