The Last Ship season 5 episode 6 preview: The new team-up plan

Last Ship season 5 poster

The Last Ship season 5 episode 6 is in many ways the next phase of the operation for the Nathan James crew. At the moment, their plan seems reasonably clear based on some of the events that we saw tonight: We’re going to see Chandler and company work with some new people in order to ensure that they can secure Cuba. If they can get that island nation more on their side, it could be a turning point in the battle against Gustavo. Its location is pivotal given its proximity to Florida and most of the Southeastern United States. If anything terrible happens there, it could doom them in the midst of the war.

Below, CarterMatt has The Last Ship season 5 episode 6 synopsis, which gives you more of a sense as to what lies ahead:

Nathan James must seek the aide of a prominent rebel leader in order to create a staging area before mounting an invasion of their own.

Tonight on the series, we saw a good sense of what many characters are fighting for with their relationships and families away from the battlefield. We don’t anticipate that they are going to be explicitly mentioned all that much in what’s coming over the next few weeks, but they are going to be somewhere in the minds of some of these characters. It’s something that, therefore, cannot be completely and totally forgotten about. It’s a motivating factor as the crew tries to stay creative and a few steps ahead of Gustavo’s people. This is not an easy stretch of episodes that lie ahead, and it’s more than understandable to think that we could see a few more characters die along the way.

At the moment, what we’re the most worried about for some of these characters is a betrayal. After all, this is something that we’ve seen woven into the fabric of this story already.
