Empire season 5 episode 3 preview: ‘Pride’ & the Lyons’ push for prosperity
Everyone loves a comeback, right? That may be something that Cookie and Lucious are relying on. They’ve lost a lot since the end of season 4, whether it be their business and some of their reputation. Talented as you may be musically, it’s still difficult to climb your way back to the top in the business world. You need acumen, intelligence, and above all determination. You need a never-say-die spirit, which luckily is the sort of thing that Lucious and Cookie have. They are just going to have to need a little bit of help to push their way back — think in terms of their kids, and then also some collaborators that they’ve worked with in the past.
The Empire season 5 episode 3 synopsis below does not reveal everything, but we do like to think that it offers up some information when it comes to what’s next:
Cookie and Lucious push to get back in the music game, but they’ll need the whole family and some old allies to make serious sacrifices in order to do so. Meanwhile, Andre finds a risky way to make a name for himself among his fellow inmates in the all-new “Pride” episode of EMPIRE airing Wednesday, Oct. 10 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX.
The Andre storyline is interesting given that it offers some opportunity to see Empire try to offer up a twist when it comes to the all-familiar prison subplot that exists on so many shows. How do you do this differently, and how do you also find a way to make it so that we’re not just waiting for him to get out? The struggle for creativity is also so much different for Empire when you consider that this is a series that has already dived into this sort of subject matter already.
