Shadowhunters season 3 exec turns in finale to network
If there is one part of this tweet (which CarterMatt has for you to check out below) that invokes some emotion, it’s the hashtag #ByeForNow. That’s a reminder that anything is possible when it comes to Shadowhunters being saved (even if it appears unlikely at this point); beyond that, it’s a reminder that the Slavkin / Swimmer writing team will be back in the future. We really hope that these two either develop or land at a new project, and that many Shadowhunters fans choose to follow them if the show doesn’t come back. We’ve have seen a lot of showrunner over the years that have really strong working relationships and it’s been clear from the jump here that these two care deeply about the show and the story they told. They’ve created a wonderful universe and that has given us a lot of faith that they will go on to do some other amazing shows.
For those who don’t know, Slavkin and Swimmer have an extensive history working together on shows like Smallville, No Ordinary Family, Melrose Place, Alphas, Dominion, Guilt, and more. Shadowhunters was far from their first rodeo, but it was the show that built them a social following unlike what they had before. It feels clear that this show meant so much to them as people and their careers. Hopefully, no matter what they do next they have a chance to work with some of the show’s cast again.
