NCIS: Los Angeles season 10: Should Deeks’ bar still be a storyline?

NCIS: Los Angeles

NCIS: Los Angeles season 10 is coming to CBS in just a matter of days and there is one thing we already know about it: The core four characters are going to survive!

Through a combination of social-media posts and plot teases that are out there, it’s been rather clear that Deeks, Kensi, Sam, and Callen are all going to live to see another day. This is exciting, but there are still many unanswered questions. How Kensi and Deeks get to their wedding after some of what happened in the finale is one question. Meanwhile, another one is seeing what happens when it comes to Deeks’ bar. Is this establishment going to still come to existence?

Last season, we saw that Deeks wanted to put in the groundwork towards making this happen, and we’d be surprised if he completely abandons the idea now. However, this show isn’t also titled Watch Deeks Start a Bar. Instead, it’s more about solving crimes and taking out bad guys. That’s going to be the focus, and if the bar is still a part of the story, we feel like it’s going to be somewhat similar to Sam’s boat — something that appears a few times during the season. Maybe it becomes a little more a part of the story like Steve and Danny’s restaurant on Hawaii Five-0, but we don’t quite see it ever getting to that level. Remember here that Steve and Danny are the principal characters for Hawaii Five-0, while Sam and Callen tend to get top billing here.

Personally, we don’t foresee Deeks’ bar disappearing completely, but in between his recovery and the wedding, we don’t expect it to get top billing, either. Be prepared to see it hovering underneath the surface for a while.
