Suits season 8 episode 9 preview: ‘Motion to Delay’ & hopes for peace

Before we dive too much into Suits season 8 episode 9, we do need to kick this off with a reminder: We’re almost at the end of the summer run. That’s shocking to think about in so many ways since it feels like the summer just started! It’s a real testament to Aaron Korsh and the writers who continue to deliver great stories. While we’d say that we’re still waiting for the complete home-run-of-an-episode that goes down in Suits history this season, it’s been thoroughly enjoyable from start to finish.

Moving possible, it’s certainly possible that we’re going to see that home run thanks in part to us getting a chance to see a major showdown with the firm. Meanwhile, Samantha and Alex are going to be tested on the relationship that they’ve built up over the course of the past few weeks.

There are obviously a number of different things that we’re hoping for with an episode like this, but one of the big things is simply that we don’t get a whole lot of resolution just yet. We’re actually hoping that this episode carries over into whatever lies ahead. We want this to be a two-parter that really ends the first part of season 8 with a bang. Typically the ratings dip for the show when it airs in the winter and we want to ensure that there is a pretty substantial reason for viewers to watch. This is not a show that always needs an enormous cliffhanger, but we certainly don’t mind whenever there is one.
