Criminal Minds season 14 promo highlights Reid, Garcia’s struggle
In this promo (via ET Online), you can see these two characters still in grave danger following the big season 13 cliffhanger, where it was clear that the cult is ready to end their lives if they don’t get what they want. They’re in a situation where there is not a great deal of hope for them, but if there is one thing that they have going for them above all else, it’s simply the fact that they have the BAU on their side looking for them and will stop at nothing to get their team members back safely.
Just hearing Emily Prentiss speak to how important Reid and Garcia are is a reminder that she, Rossi, and the rest of the team are more than just co-workers – they are a family. This is the foundation for the premiere, which also serves as the historic 300th installment for the series.

Based on many early indications that we have, the upcoming premiere is going to do everything that it can in order to give you a look back at the series while also focusing on the characters’ struggles in the present. We get a good sense that the producers understand the historic nature of the series and they do want to try and honor that as much as they possibly can. Let’s just hope that this season lives up to some of the great hype that is out there and produces a foundation that lasts the remainder of the season. We’re confident that Reid and Garcia will survive, but we also do want there to be some struggle to go along with it.
