Fear the Walking Dead season 4: Who is Filthy Woman, really?

Filthy Woman

Fear the Walking Dead season 4 seems to have a new Big Bad, and she’s a mysterious one. It’s really tough to think otherwise about someone who has the name of “Filthy Woman.” We’ve seen that she’s a killer, just as we’ve seen that she is more than willing to take advantage of people who show some element of kindness and generosity. Destroying others on some level seems to be this character’s natural way of doing things.

So what more should we know about her right now? This is something that Colman Domingo, who directed this past episode, discussed further to Entertainment Weekly:

The character is called Filthy Woman. That’s the title of her character. We don’t know her name yet. So Filthy Woman is one of the most resourceful people in this apocalypse because she has found something that is working for her. For whatever reason it is, she’s doing some dastardly things like, you know, poisoning the water. She’s writing on people’s heads with this incredible penmanship. Maybe we’ll find out of why she’s doing this, why she’s taking this to task, why she’s living this way. Why is this her endgame?

Everyone’s finding something. Right now, Strand has found a bottle of wine or scotch to be his whole motivation for the rest of the apocalypse, and this Filthy Woman seems to have found hers. She’s claiming, “I’m not weak,” and she believes strength is in people who have let themselves go into this darkness in some way.

Yet, as intriguing and dangerous as this character is, one of the things that you also have to wonder here is just how much of a threat just one person out in the wilds can really be. Is she all that much of a danger on her own? We really think that her biggest strength is stealth. If she can operate for a long-enough period of rime without anyone recognizing just what she is doing, she can eventually use that to her advantage. She can cause so much suffering that when they start to put the pieces together, she’s so much more threatening than she would have been otherwise.
