Good Trouble spoilers: Noah Centineo returning as Jesus to Fosters spin-off

Good Trouble on Freeform has just landed another actor from The Fosters, and given recent headlines, this one is a big get for them.

Over the past week or so, Noah Centineo has become somewhat of a breakout star because of his role in the new Netflix movie To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before. Now, we’ve learned (via Entertainment Weekly) that Noah will will be appearing in at least one episode of Good Trouble as Jesus Adams Foster. He’s of course the sibling of Callie (Maia Mitchell) and Mariana (Cierra Ramirez), who are the stars of the new series. The setting has shifted over to Los Angeles after The Fosters spent its run in the San Diego area.

As for the story with Jesus, that remains to be seen, but we’d love for the writers to continue much of the story that we saw for him at the end of The Fosters. One of the great things about his character is that he was a great reminder that you don’t need to have some grand college education or an “expected” life in order to be successful or happy. He was finding his own way, though there were a number of challenges that he still had — including his relationship with Emma and the challenges dating long-distance presents. This is something we know a lot about since we (Matt and Jessica – co-owners of CarterMatt) were in a long distance relationship for almost two years before getting married and finally living together. it can be difficult at times, but it’s so worth it!

The return of Centineo follows up such other returns as Sherri Saum (Lena), Teri Polo (Stef), and Hayden Byerly (Jude), who have all committed to at least one appearance on the new series. We have a feeling that there could be more beyond that — we know that personally, we’d like to see David Lambert (Brandon) turn up eventually, and it would also certainly be nice to see some of the recurring players from the series turn up in some capacity.

Good Trouble is currently slated to premiere on Freeform come early next year — if you do want to get some other coverage about it right now, be sure to head over to the link here.
