Fear the Walking Dead season 4 episode 11: Morgan’s journey in ‘The Code’
Before doing anything else, let’s go ahead and get that out of the way:
Morgan’s journey is derailed by some new acquaintances.
Yeah, so AMC isn’t giving us all that much to go on here, other than just making it super-clear that we are going to have a huge episode coming up in terms of seeing Morgan try to make some progress on his path — presumably, back to Alexandria.
What’s been so interesting is that for most of the series’ run, we really hadn’t put a lot of thought into possible crossovers. While there’s a fun fan-service element that could come with seeing the two Walking Dead shows together, there isn’t necessarily a ton of appeal beyond that. It’s not like, at least on the surface, there are some long-lost family members about to be brought together. There’s even less buzz around the idea now given that the vast majority of Fear the Walking Dead characters are people we don’t know all that well. We don’t really have a huge investment in them right now in this world (save for Alicia, though we also enjoy John Dorie), and with that, how do we get excited for seeing them on this show? Maybe if it was Alicia and Madison, we’d feel slightly different since that was this show’s best dynamic duo. Alas, that is now not the case.
Seeing Morgan back in Alexandria, with some of the knowledge that he’s now received from some of these characters, does at least have some appeal. This is a guy coming forward with a better sense of who he is, and maybe how he can further help the community.
