Queen of the South season 3 episode 9 preview: Teresa plays politics

What lies ahead on Queen of the South season 3 episode 9? Let’s just say that we’re gearing up for another episode where Teresa is going to be plotting to figure out how to eliminate threats. What’s the big difference between this and some efforts of hers in the past? It really comes down to who she is deciding to work with — in this occasion, it just so happens to be someone who knows a thing or two about manipulating people — a politician. These are people who are driven and will do whatever they can in order to reinforce a narrative. They are also people who often are in constant need of funds and have a pretty good amount of power. Basically, what we’re trying to say here is that there are few other people out there more well-equipped to take on some of the struggles that likely await Teresa than someone like this.

We’ll go ahead and share now the official Queen of the South season 3 episode 9 synopsis, not that we really think that this is actually going to give away all that much:

To help wipe out her rivals in Phoenix, Teresa gets into bed with an ambitious politician.

More so than thinking in terms of what Teresa is willing to do in order to move ahead, the larger question that we wonder for her instead is the consequence of this action. It’s basically Newton’s first law for Queen of the South — for every action there is an equal but opposite reaction, and we’ve seen a number of pushbacks on the series already. More are coming, and they may be even more intense than ever now that we are getting close to the end of the road for this season.

All in all, we’re very curious to see how Queen of the South does politics — if it’s like most of the other stories they bring to the table, it is almost certainly going to be rather messy.
