The Bachelor debate: Should Blake Horstmann, Jason Tartick get the role?
So why these two? Much of it stems from them both having large followings following the events of this season and, to go along with that, both of them went far and are memorable. We do think that after casting two Bachelors the past two seasons who were not a part of the previous Bachelorette season, ABC is going to move back to the old norm. The only possible exception we could see is Ben Higgins in the event he wants the gig — he is still extremely popular and if the stars align, we almost certainly foresee him being the sort of person who could get the gig.
Ultimately, though, what we’ve really realized over the years is that the debate over the next star of The Bachelor really does depend heavily on what happened the night in which said debate is happening. For example, we think that tonight, there is going to be a huge surge towards Blake given the teary way in which he says goodbye. However, two weeks ago it was easier to tip the scales more in the direction of Jason based on the way in which he was eliminated.
Personally, we wouldn’t have minded Wills in the role at all, but that feels like a faraway underdog for the part and not something that is likely going to happen. He is on Bachelor in Paradise so we at least have that going for us.
