Is Nashville new tonight on CMT? What could have been
Is Nashville new tonight on CMT? After spending the past couple of months with these characters, it’s fair to want more. It’s fair to want to see the other side of things with Daphne after the singing show, Deacon in both his personal and professional lives, and also Juliette as she’s managed to make such great strides after everything with the cult.
Unfortunately, there is no more story to tell, at least so far as the show itself is concerned. Last week marked the series finale for the series and we think that it was a fairly good celebration of the series as a whole. Getting a chance to bring back Connie Britton for one final curtain call really felt like the right thing to do — this marked an opportunity to bring the whole story of the show full-circle and allow us better to see how far Deacon has come from the early days.
While there is a part of us that will always crave more Nashville, it is also fairly easy to sit here and think about precisely how lucky we’ve become. Think of things in this sense: We’ve gotten a chance to see six full seasons of Nashville air and with that, had a chance to witness a heck of a lot of great performances and fascinating plotlines. Given what happened at ABC after the fourth season, it does still in many ways feel like a blessing that the final two seasons exist at all.
