Criminal Minds season 14 spoilers: Spencer Reid – cliffhanger talk

Spencer Reid Criminal Minds

What’s coming for Spencer Reid entering Criminal Minds season 14? Based on the end of season 13, there’s certainly the potential for some painful stuff. Yet, there’s also a chance for some hope given that this marks yet another chance for him to rise above some of the chaos that we’re seeing right now.

Let’s start things off here with this, though — after going through everything he did in prison and also what happened with the cult and the kidnapping at the end of season 13, these are all going to stick with him on some level. Speaking to TV Guide on that particular subject, show executive producer Erica Messer had the following to say on the subject:

That ends up being a great runner that we go with for Season 14. He’s been through a lot, right? It’s going to affect him.

Luckily, Messer also notes that there is going to be a lot of positive, heroic stuff coming up for Reid, as well. You’re not going to see the character suffer forever and, above all else, you should really just rejoice in the fact that he is not going away after the cliffhanger. This isn’t the sort that is apparently, designed to make you think that Matthew Gray Gubler is going to be leaving the show.

Beyond just Reid…

Remember that Garcia is also in danger! That’s going to be another big component to the season ahead and we’re absolutely curious to see just how she is going to handle the aftermath of precisely what she went through.
