Chris Hardwick will return to AMC, Talking Dead after investigation

AMC -

Chris Hardwick will return to AMC with both of his shows intact in Talking Dead and also Talking with Chris Hardwick.

Today, the network announced the news, and issued a new statement to go along with it:

“Following a comprehensive assessment by AMC, working with Ivy Kagan Bierman of the firm Loeb & Loeb, who has considerable experience in this area, Chris Hardwick will return to AMC as the host of Talking Dead and Talking with Chris Hardwick … We take these matters very seriously and given the information available to us after a very careful review, including interviews with numerous individuals, we believe returning Chris to work is the appropriate step.”

Hardwick’s Talking was originally suspended after there were accusations of sexual assault and misconduct levied against him by his ex Chloe Dykstra. He was also removed from a number of Comic-Con panels held this past weekend.

The subject of Hardwick and his television future has remained a hot-button topic for the past month, with many feeling as though AMC should move on while fans and exes of the comedian / host advocated for him and attempted to get him back on the air. More than 40,000 people signed a petition in order to have him return to work.

Regardless of the results of this investigation, there are still going to be questions that remain for many. It will be difficult for Hardwick to escape these accusations and there may be a time in which he addresses them more head-on beyond the initial statement released at the time. This has been a polarizing subject and will likely remain so regardless of how many witnesses and people are interviewed on the subject. In the end, it mostly comes down to the accounts of the two people who were involved and their perspectives on the matter clearly differ.

NBC has yet to announce their own decision regarding the future of Hardwick, who hosts their own game show The Wall executive producered by LeBron James.
