Blue Bloods season 9: Is Lou Diamond Phillips guest starring?

Blue Bloods season 9

Is Lou Diamond Phillips guest starring on Blue Bloods season 9? Judging from a video via series star Donnie Wahlberg, it seems as though there’s a pretty good chance that is the case.

In the video via Wahlberg (who apparently started filming today), you can see the Longmire alum in the background — while Donnie shouts out his name! Also featured in the video are Marisa Ramirez (Baez) and Vanessa Ray (Eddie), who all seem to be having a really good time together. It’s really fun watching the three of them, while in costume, also goof around and have a little bit of fun in the midst of the busy filming schedule.

We’ve been lucky to actually see Phillips on a number of different CBS shows as of late, including NCIS: New Orleans (where he was a notable part of the recent finale event), Criminal Minds, and Hawaii Five-0. He also stopped by for a couple of episodes on Amazon’s Goliath, an excellent show you should check out if you haven’t already. Getting to see him here in some capacity would be a nice reward to top off some of the excitement we have already for Blue Bloods season 9, which is premiering on CBS come Friday, September 28 at 10:00 p.m. Eastern time. If he appearing on the show, fingers crossed already that it leaves the door open for some sort of multi-episode gig; Blue Bloods is rather great at finding ways in which to use performers on more than one occasion. Look at Ato Essandoh, Bebe Neuwirth, and David Ramsey as some fine examples of that.

Filming for the CBS series is going to be happening through the coming months, and would finish up at some point in the spring. As we reported earlier, if the series gets renewed for a season 10 (or finds its episode order extended by one), we will get a chance to see a 200th episode. There’s a lot to celebrate right now within the Blue Bloods world!
