Bull season 3: How should series write out Annabelle Attanasio’s Cable?
However, the show must go on, and with that we imagine that there is a valuable question worth wondering when it comes to the season 3 premiere: How are the writers going to write this character out? You need to find a way to remove her from the equation that makes some sense, and that’s where the big challenge lies.
If you think back to season 2, one of the big points of emphasis when Cable was fired was how much she valued the job. She wasn’t really able to work anywhere else after what happened to TAC, but even with her firing in mind, she didn’t hold any grudges and was eager to come back. She knew her job and knew that she was good at it. With that in mind, the team is going to have quite a challenge in figuring out precisely how to have Cable exit in a permanent capacity.
What’s the easiest thing that the writers could do? Probably write out the character in a way where she just gets a better job elsewhere that can utilize her skills. It’s probably too depressing to have her fired off-screen and it’s even more depressing to kill the character off.
As we said both in the original report on her exit and the video below (subscribe to CarterMatt on YouTube for more), we don’t think there is any ill will or hard feelings here. With that, we imagine that that the producers are going to set up Cable’s exit in a way in which she can return in the future, provided of course that this is something that she really wants to do.
