Outlander notes: Las Vegas convention continues; other odds and ends

If you love Outlander, this weekend is a wonderful time to celebrate! The official convention is still going on in Las Vegas, and to date everyone from Cesar Domboy to Steven Cree to Andrew Gower has taken part in panels. There are many more to come, but there’s also been a lot of fun stuff that has happened already. Think in terms of karaoke and other hijinks.

Ultimately, we saw much of this as an incentive for many out there to attend future conventions, as many of the actors often do their part to put on a great show. There are appearances from many others still to come, including Caitriona Balfe as well as Sophie Skelton. Both are in Vegas, as evidenced by the photo at the bottom of the article via Sony TV’s Chris Parnell. The fact that Parnell is around for the convention definitely adds to the official nature of it, given that Sony is the U.S. studio behind the show.

One of the challenges that does come with writing about conventions like these is that often, they are more so about experiences than they are events that can be documented in photos and video. It’s about being there, being surrounded by your fellow fans, and commiserating with them while celebrating one of your favorite TV series of all time. It’s a rather difficult thing to replicate. Just to give you a small sense as to some of the stuff that happened in Vegas this weekend (at least so far), check out a few different tweets below. There’s some humor in here, but also some good information as to why there are no videos of karaoke night out there. If you’re at the convention, we hope it’s a fantastic time! There really are few better places out there for an event like this than Vegas.
