Blue Bloods season 9: Can we get more Danny – Jamie storylines?
For the sake of this article, we should note that the focus is strongly on none other than Danny and Jamie Reagan — two brothers who occasionally get to spend some time together on cases, then of course during family dinner.
Yet, could there be more that the writers could do? We’d love it, mostly because it feels like there’s still so much to mine when it comes to their relationship at brothers. We do think that there’s some really interesting emotional ground to explore over the course of season 9, as well. For starters, Danny is certainly happy for Jamie after he and Eddie’s engagement, but at the same time it must still be hard seeing your brother get married after losing the love of your life. We don’t know if this will ever be explored on the surface, but it has to be there on Danny’s mind. On a more lighthearted note, we’re still all for any scenes of Danny helping to plan the wedding; given how terrible he is sometimes when it comes to cooking dinner for his sons, we can only imagine what it would look like trying to take Jamie tuxedo shopping or working on centerpieces.
On more of a police level, we’d just like to see more large-scale operations with Danny and Jamie both involved. With a lot of high-profile cases you need officers who understand each other and can communicate well together — while there are arguments to be made about Jamie and Danny’s relationship being too close in the sense that they would protect each other always over most other cops, they do have that trust. We’d love to at least get a few more episodes of the two of them finding a way to work together, whether it be out in the field or undercover.
