Sharp Objects episode 1: What’s ahead for Amy Adams, cast

Sharp Objects episode 1

What lies ahead on Sharp Objects episode 1? The crime series is set to premiere on HBO Sunday night and judging from everything from everything that we’ve seen so far, this is a show with all of the makings of a big hit. It is a limited series in the vein of Big Little Lies and True Detective, though the irony there is that neither one of those shows remained a one-season affair. Both were eventually renewed for a second season. We don’t want to think about the future this series just yet, though, mostly because there’s so much to deal with in the present. You’ve got a great cast, a complicated story, and also hopefully an interesting case at the center of everything.

For some of the first details on what you can expect, we suggest that you take a look at the Sharp Objects episode 1 synopsis below:

Camille Preaker (Amy Adams), a reporter for the St. Louis Chronicle, is sent to her rural hometown of Wind Gap by her editor, Curry (Miguel Sandoval), to file a story about two missing girls, one of whom was found dead and presumed murdered. The assignment, which reunites Camille with her overbearing mother, Adora (Patricia Clarkson), stepfather, Alan Crellin (Henry Czerny), and half-sister, Amma (Eliza Scanlen), brings back traumatic childhood memories, including the death of Camille’s younger sister, Marian (Lulu Wilson), when both were schoolgirls. Tormented by her past and seeking refuge through alcohol, Camille joins Detective Richard Willis (Chris Messina) and Chief of Police Vickery (Matt Craven) in following leads around town that might shed light on the fate of the most recent missing girl.

Written by Marti Noxon; directed by Jean-Marc Vallée.

The video below offers a little more information regarding what’s coming via Adams herself alongside Gillian Flynn, director Vallee (who worked on Big Little Lies), Patricia Clarkson, and many more. It’s a show that could stick with you, and based on everything that we’ve got right now, it certainly seems like a series you should at least check out once.
