Should Into the Badlands season 3 following The Walking Dead season 9?

At the moment, there is still no Into the Badlands season 3 return date over on AMC — and the fact of this still upsets us immensely. What gives? We’re still frustrated both by this and also some of the lack of promotion that is out there via the network — it’s got a decent lead-in, but beyond that not enough love of its own. This frustrates us even more because of this is one of the most creative, visually-stunning shows that you are going to find.

With all of this in mind, we’re going to pose what we feel is the perfect solution to the show’s lack of proper attention: Putting the second half of season 3 on following The Walking Dead this fall, as opposed to Fear the Walking Dead this summer. This move is done, first and foremost, with good ratings in mind. The bigger the lead-in, the better off it is for the show. When Into the Badlands aired after the flagship zombie drama in the past, it delivered some big ratings. Were there some people upset about it at the time, given mostly the fact that it was bumping back Talking Dead for an hour? Sure, but from our vantage point, putting it this fall is more than worth it. Also, the future of Talking Dead remains somewhat up in the air.

Basically, at this point we’re interested in doing anything that we can to get the Into the Badlands ratings going in the right direction. AMC has yet to renew the series for a fourth season and, while we remain optimistic, it’s still hard to get into a network’s head and know what they want to do with any of their shows.
