Ransom season 2 finale spoilers: The final chapters (for now)

Ransom new tonight

What’s coming up on the Ransom season 2 finale on CBS? We should point out here, first and foremost, that there are two episodes airing next week as opposed to one. This is a chance for the network to end the season in a big way — and also before they get around to the super-challenging Fourth of July holiday.

Based on the synopses that we have for you below, it doesn’t appear as though these episodes are directly linked — think of this as somewhat similar to when Criminal Minds aired two episodes back to back to close of its own most-recent season. Nonetheless, this does mark a couple of exciting opportunities to watch some intense stories, and hopefully be reminded of what makes this show entertaining. The one unfortunate thing if you really like this show is that it’s not altogether clear there will be another season. We’re not exactly optimistic about the prospects, but we’ve also come to learn to never say never. We weren’t sure that we would be able to get a season 2 in the first place!

Now, let’s get to sharing those synopses:

Season 2 episode 12, “Promised Land” – As Eric negotiates for the release of a couple being held hostage by illegal immigrants in rural Canada, the situation turns dire when the coyotes the immigrants escaped from take the whole group hostage, including Eric, on RANSOM, Saturday, June 30 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

Season 2 episode 13 (finale), “Semaphore” – Eric’s archnemesis, Damien Delaine (Carlos Rota), brainwashes Evie and threatens to turn her into a murderer unless Eric helps him negotiate a high-stakes business deal for a new cryptocurrency that could destabilize the world economy, on the second season finale of RANSOM, Saturday, June 30 at a special time (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

For those wondering, “semaphore” is a computer science term, used to define a variable or some sort of abstract data type used to control access to a particular resource. Basically, it’s the sort of thing that criminals could want and cause a hostage crisis over.
