Cable Ratings: Queen of the South season 3, Cloak & Dagger, and Shooter
Queen of the South – We do want to start with this particular USA series, mostly on the basis of how it may very well be one of the steadiest cable shows out there — yet, it barely gets any attention for it. It performed very well for its second season in comparison to season 1, and the consistency is continuing for its season 3 premiere. The episode drew overall a 0.4 rating in the 18-49 demographic and, to go along with that, 1.24 million viewers. These numbers are virtually even with the start of season 2 and up versus the overall average for that season. we do imagine that there are going to be some declines in the future but we’re more than pleased that we are not at that point just yet.
Based on what we’re seeing at this very moment, we’re certainly starting to have hope that season 3 will be far from the end of the road for the show.
Cloak & Dagger – Meanwhile, the Marvel property airing over at Freeform also has a good bit to celebrate at the moment, mainly in that it’s figured out a way to stabilize its audience just four installments into its run. This past episode finished with over 600,000 viewers in addition to keeping the entirety of the 0.2 rating from the week before. This is a show that seems to be well on its way to a season 2 renewal, and that is not even consider how it is performing when it comes to DVR viewership.
Shooter – Finally, we come over to this show, which is where we do arrive to some bad news. The season 3 premiere for the Ryan Phillippe series drew a 0.3 rating and just under 930,000 viewers. While those are better numbers than many other cable shows out there, they do mark pretty steep drops from the start of season 2. Out of these three shows, Shooter is the only one we’re concerned about for now.
