MasterChef interview: Olusola Ogbomo on show experience, reaction
For Olusola Ogbomo, she was a fascinating contender from the start. The bus driver from South Carolina won over Joe Bastianich with her craft and her personality, and it felt like she had the potential to go really far. Unfortunately, the crab benedict challenge on this past episode did her in and she was one of two home cooks who left the kitchen alongside Stephanie.
Below, you can read more in terms of what Olusola had to say about her experience, the edit, and also if she holds onto any major regrets over what happened in her final challenge.
CarterMatt – You were such a fun person to watch this season! Were you happy with how the show presented you?
Olusola – Yes I’m happy how the show presented me!
What’s been the reaction from those around you to seeing you on the show?
Most are surprised that I kept a secret for so long. Many are proud that I am pursuing my dreams.
Do you think back to that crab benedict challenge often and what you’d do differently?
No, because what’s meant to be will be. No need to dwell on it.
What was the highlight for you on the show this season?
Making my jerk sauce.
What did you appreciate the most about being a part of MasterChef, and Joe’s team, this season?
I appreciate MasterChef for exposing my talent to the world.

Hopefully, Olusola gets to go on to do some fun things in food and she took a lot away from her time in the kitchen. Hopefully, we’ll also have more MasterChef interviews soon!
