Could a Cloak & Dagger – Runaways crossover happen?

Cloak and Dagger

Following its super-successful premiere last week, is it fine to star thinking about a possible Cloak & Dagger crossover with Runaways in the future? The latter series premiered on Hulu last year and has already been renewed for a second season. The shows both feature young characters and, to go along with that, there is a history between all of the characters in the comics. It’s, therefore, easy to see something like this happening.

Yet, it doesn’t seem to be something that is in the cards at the moment, and we imagine that the two shows airing in different places could make things a little bit difficult. Yet, it does seem to be something that the show’s casts are fairly interested in. For a little bit more information on that subject, just take a look at what series star Olivia Holt had to say to Entertainment Weekly:

“We’re close in age and it would just probably make the most sense. I’m all for the Runaways … I would love to see the Cloak and Dagger clan and the Runaways clan team up.”

For now, the priority does have to be on getting the Cloak & Dagger characters in a position where they are closer to their comic-book counterparts. The series is really taking its time developing the powers and the origin stories and we love that — there are so many other shows out there that really rush into tying together some of the origin stories and we like that with this one, the approach is more methodical. That’s going to make it all the stronger when they get together. To us, a crossover seems like something that would be fun for a third or fourth season, but it’s a little too early to go in that direction right now.
