Work on The 100 season 6 is about to begin…
For a little more information/evidence of this subject, take a look at what showrunner Jason Rothenberg had to say in a post on Twitter below! The writers room seems set to start on Monday, which means that the writers have the difficult challenge of having to come up with stories for the sixth season while the fifth season is still airing. That is not a particularly easy challenge since you don’t know how viewers are going to feel about every single aspect of the story.
The good news, at least with this show, is that they have a whole lot of information backlogged when it comes to viewer sentiment. At this point, we feel like The 100 and its writers know what viewers like and don’t like and they can work on some of the scripts with that in mind. They just need to continue to find ways to combine the high-stakes action and drama with individual character moments. If this was yet another post-apocalyptic drama, it wouldn’t be on the air anymore. The thing that really helps this show to stand out more so than anything else is that it does continue to find interesting situations to put its characters in — not only that, but the writing makes you want to root for these people. They may be imperfect, but in some ways that helps them to be a perfect reflection of most of us as humans. We can see ourselves through them and some of the things that they do.
Our feeling is that The 100 season 6 will likely premiere in the spring of 2019. More than likely, you are going to be waiting a good while for what’s next.
