Grey’s Anatomy season 15 premiere date hopes, early expectations
Of course, let’s just start this article off by noting how incredible it really is that we are getting a Grey’s Anatomy season 15 in the first place. There are so few shows out there that make it on the air so long, and this is really just a testament to the fine work of the cast and producers who continue to put their best into making the show great. It would have been so easy at some point along the way for everyone to just decide to pack this in and that they have submitted their place in history already.
Grey’s Anatomy season 15, like so many other seasons of the show before it, is going to officially premiere starting this fall on ABC. It is fair to assume that it will be coming on the air in late September, mostly because that is when so many other seasons have started up. The official premiere date will be named at some point presumably over the summer, and the time slot is going to be the same as it was both this season and the last few that have aired before it: 8 p.m. eastern time. Grey’s Anatomy will be followed by Station 19 as it was in the spring, and following that How to Get Away with Murder will are starting at 10 p.m.
So what is known for sure about season 15? At the moment, not too much given that it is going to mark a significant new chapter in the show. Sarah Drew and Jessica Capshaw have both officially departed, and with that we imagine that there may be some new characters who turn up here in there. There will also most likely be some exciting new cases, and more potential to do Station 19 crossovers then we saw for most of this past season of the shows. It was a little bit more challenging to coordinate these crossovers this year, given that it was not entirely clear as to when Station 19 would be premiering at the time in which these sort of schedules would have had to have been planned.
When it comes to the future for Grey’s Anatomy beyond season 15, the only thing that we can say for sure is that Ellen Pompeo has a contract that will carry her into a season 16. Clearly, that is something that ABC would like to do at this particular moment, but we will have to wait and see whether or not that actually comes to fruition. You’re never in the business of confirming something before ABC does so, after all.
