ABC 2018 Fall Schedule: Roseanne returns soon, The Rookie takes on Tuesdays
We won’t waste too much time here building things up — let’s get to the schedule! All times listed here are Eastern.
Monday
8:00 – Dancing with the Stars
10:00 – The Good Doctor
The good news here is clearly that Dancing with the Stars seems to be going back to its standard format — we are not going to see a transition over to doing all athletes again, at least for the time being.
Tuesday
8:00 – Roseanne
8:30 – The Kids Are Alright (new comedy)
9:00 – black-ish
9:30 – Splitting Up Together
10:00 – The Rookie (new drama)
In putting The Kids Are Alright on after Roseanne one of the things that we’re going to see if this show can find a way to be anywhere near as successful. Meanwhile, ABC is taking a big gamble on Nathan Fillion’s The Rookie in a timeslot that has been murder to shows on the network over the years.
Wednesday
8:00 – The Goldbergs
8:30 – American Housewife
9:00 – Modern Family
9:30 – Single Parents (new comedy)
10:00 – A Million Little Things (new drama)
This is a solid lineup for the most part — the new shows are a gamble, especially Designated Survivor was struggling massively by the end.
Thursday
8:00 – Grey’s Anatomy
9:00 – Station 19
10:00 – How to Get Away with Murder
#TGIT will be officially back, even if Shonda Rhimes herself is leaving ABC for Netflix.
Friday
8:00 – Fresh Off the Boat
8:30 – Speechless
9:00 – Child Support
10:00 – 20/20
We almost sense a little bit of shade being thrown at Fox and Last Man Standing here — these comedies are battling off against it in hopes of getting that family crowd.
Sunday
7:00 – America’s Funniest Home Videos
8:00 – Dancing with the Stars: Juniors
9:00 – Shark Tank
10:00 – The Alec Baldwin Show
It’s an interesting move to completely abandon scripted programming altogether on Sundays but we get it — ABC has struggled more with scripted fare as of late.
