NCIS: Los Angeles season 9: Is the table set for Densi wedding?
Unfortunately, CBS and the show producers seem to be fine with making us wait and patience is something that all Densi fans are used to at this point! Think about how long fans have waited to see these two together, let alone how long people have waited see an engagement happen. Now that they are engaged, it’s still been a long wait for some of the wedding planning to really get off the ground. I get that the show isn’t about Densi or their wedding, but at the same time, it doesn’t need to move quite this slowly either.
On tonight’s episode, Kensi had some great ideas for what she wanted the wedding to be, whereas Deeks continued to press how much he wanted something that was “organic” a.k.a. true to him. There was a little conflict but not enough to cause any major arguments between the two. For me, the best part of Densi is when they are flirting/playfully bickering while out in the field. There was plenty of that tonight.
Do I want a wedding in the finale? Given that there’s a possible location mapped out in Malibu it’d be nice! At the same time, though, there’s another problem — all of the promo material out there for the finale hints that most of it’s going to be about some drama elsewhere and a dangerous situation involving Mosley’s son. If there’s a Densi wedding in there it feels like it’d be crammed in amidst almost everything else that is going on in that episode. Haven’t we all been subjected to enough TV weddings that are rushed at the end of an episode (yes, we are looking at you Castle)? Doesn’t Densi deserve so much more?
If the writers have a way to make the wedding into an event that isn’t just tacked on at the end of the episode, I support it. If there’s no real room for it, hopefully the writers find a way to have a bigger celebration down the road and since the show has been renewed, I don’t mind waiting. Doesn’t a fall wedding sound nice? That’d especially be the case if the show gets a really fun guest list and brings in a few things that are indicative of everything that Densi is and what they mean to the show. Give us something beautiful, funny, and also a little silly at times because that’s exactly how this couple is — yet, underneath it all they are as loving and supportive of each other as they come.
Now I know that there its a promo out there for next week’s episode that has Densi fans freaked out because it looks like Deeks is giving Kensi an ultimatum about her job and their relationship, but just remember promos are meant to do exactly that – scare people. For me, the more I see them hype up something like “trouble for Densi” the more I’m worried that they are going to have the wedding in the finale and that it might not be the big event I’ve been hoping for.
